Applications are open for scholarships from the Ragland Family Educa tion Foundation, according to a press release from the foundation on Jan. 7. The program supports students planning to attend university in the science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) fields in Okla homa.
The scholarship will award $20,000 in increments of $5,000 per semester.
It’s open to any college- bound student who plans to attend university or college in the state of Oklahoma. The deadline is March 15.
Students will be evaluated on “academic excellence, extracurricular activities, financial need, leadership potential, and a compelling personal statement,” according to the release.
“As a dedicated advocate for education and innovation, the Ragland Family Education Foundation understands the critical importance of nurturing talent in STEM disciplines to drive progress and contribute to the growth of our community,” the release said. “The $20,000 STEM Scholarship is designed to empower aspiring students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements, leadership qualities, financial need, and a passion for making a positive impact in STEM-related fields."
