Meeker man dies in single-car accident on I-44

AMeekermanhasdiedin a single vehicle traffic collision on I-44 northbound north of I-40 in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Lt. Smith of Troop A, who investigated the collision, identified the 20-year-Meeker man as Keavin Grady.

The lieutenant said the Oklahoma City Fire Department pronounced Grady deceased at the scene from head, leg, arm, internal trunk and external trunk injuries. He was transported by the Oklahoma Medical Examiner to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.

Smith reported the collision occurred shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

He said Grady was driving a 2018 Malibu northbound on I-44. He noted the driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway to right coming to rest into a pole. Grady reportedly was pinned for approximately 10 minutes before being extricated by the Oklahoma City Fire DepartmentusingtheHurst tool.

The lieutenant said condition of the driver at the time of the collision is under investigation. He listed cause of the collision as too fast for road conditions and reported it was raining at the time of the crash.
