Meeker Board approves mutual aid agreement

Meeker’sTown Board of Trustees have voted to enter into a mutual aid agreement with Sooner Warn and they authorized the grant administrator to apply for a Slip onTanker Unit grant for the Fire Department.

TownAdministrator Jeff Wilbourn explained to Trustees about the Sooner Warn agreement, “That it doesn’t hold us to anything, but without it they won’t put us in the pool.”

Sooner Warn is Oklahoma’s Water/Wastewater Agency Response network, a program that provides mutual aid and assistance during emergency events.

Wilbourn toldTrustees there is no cost to the Town of Meeker.

On the grant for the fire department, Grant Administrator Leslie Wilbourn advised the Trustees that with their approval she is applying for the grant to obtain three of the Slip on Tanker units.

In other business, Trustees: Without going into executive session, voted to hired Marshall Jones as part-time police officer for the Meeker Police Department.

Approved payment to OMAG Property Insurance in the amount of $9,888 from the General Fund.

Agreed to close City Hall on Good Friday, April 18, 2025 with employees using their accrued time off.

Meeting as the Public Works Authority, the Trustees approved the application for the 2026 Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan Forgiveness Cycle.

They also voted to return $22,995.99 to the USDA Rural Development.

They approved a payment toOMAGProperty Insurance in the amount of $5,825 for the PWA.
