Meeker Board of Education members this week rehired its administrative team for the 20252026 school year and also approved stipends for certified and support staff for the 2024-2025 school year.
They also accepted a resignation.
Following an executive session, the board members returned to open meeting and voted to offer contracts for the 2025-2026 school year to all of the present adminisrators.
That includes Brad Buxton, high school principal; Matt Jones, Middle School principal; Sarah Flowers, elementary principal and Brad Seaborn, athletic director.
Board members also accepted the resignation of Pam Leone, Special Education Director.
School Supt. Jeff Pruitt said prior to the board meeting that Leone is retiring at the end of the school year as director but will teach again next year.
Board members approved stipendsfor20242025andtheamountsare based on years of experience in public education.
Those with 0 to 5 years of experience receive $500; 6-10 years, $600; 11-15 years, $800; 1620 $1,000; 21-25 years, $1,200; and 25 plus years $1,500.
Board members also voted to renew OKTLE for Teacher Observation and Evaluation for the 2025-2026 school year.
They approved the calendar for the 2025-2026 school year.
They also approved policy updates, one of those on flags.
In his report, High School Principal Brad Buxton advised board members enrollment is at 244. He mentioned that on March 13 Health Career Persons will be there for any high school student interested in nursing and/or medical school. He said on April 9 the ACT will be administered to all Juniors.
Middle School Principal Matt Jones in his report mentioned that enrollment is staying solid at 204 and said the state weight lifting tournament is this week on March 13.
Elementary School Principal Sarah Flowers informedboardmembers enrollment is at 309 and that the Stem/Literacy Nigh last week was what she called a “huge success,” drawing about 300peopleincluding160 students.
