Stroud creates overlay district

The Stroud City Council passed an ordinance in their regular monthly meeting on March 13 to form a Non-Standard Housing Overlay District.

An overlay district is a zoning district layerd on top of an already existing district that implements additional regulations.

The City Council also approved the installation of stop signs at the corner of 1st Street and Harrison, as well as at the corner of Harrison and 1st Street. They also approved the installation of a gateway sign at the southbound dead-end of 9th Avenue, north of the railroad guardrail.

Other actions include approving the amended Employee Handbook of Personnel Policies.

City Council also heard a grant update from Leslie Wilbourn and discussed, but took no action on applying for an Oklahoma Department of Commerce CDBG grant in the amount of $300,000 with an 8 percent match.
