I attended the play at Lincoln County On-Stage last weekend in Chandler. It was titled “The Old Man and the Old Moon.” It was not a play I was familiar with but Larry Lenora and Mandy Meyers directed it so that was all I needed to know; it would be a wonderful performance. I was not disappointed. The show was magical and the music beautiful. The talent we have right here in Lincoln County is amazing. It rivals any other theater I have visited. We are so fortunate to have stellar performances so close to home. I recommend next time you see they are putting on a play, plan on attending. If you miss it, you’ve missed a treat. One of Stroud’s very own musicians was in the play, Marvin Hudson. While visiting with Larry, I learned he was one of the founding members of the theater 45 years ago.

It’s hard to believe May is just around the corner which means the end of another school year and the start of a new chapter for our high school seniors. It’s not too early to start thinking about those graduation gifts. Be sure and check out our local merchants to see what goodies they have in their inventory. I’m sure seniors would even love gift cards for an oil change, coffees, or delicious meals from one of our local restaurants. Think outside the box when you’re planning your gift items. Have a great week and thank you for continuing to shop local………….first!
