Businesses, entities, schools and other organizations in Lincoln County have been recognized by the state for their public health initiatives.
More than 30 organizations in the county were awarded Certified Healthy Oklahoma classifications for 2024, according to a press release from the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) issued on April 28.
Certified Healthy Oklahoma is a collaborative euort involving OSDH, The Oklahoma Academy, Oklahoma Turning Point Council and the State Chamber of Oklahoma, according to the release. It ouers certifications in six categories - Business, Campus, Community, Congregation, Early Childhood Program and School.
"Organizations and individuals earning a Certified Healthy Oklahoma certification at any level should take pride in their accomplishment and be celebrated for their leadership in promoting health," said Commissioner of Health Keith Reed. "These champions of health are helping pave the way to an elevated quality of life for all Oklahomans."
More than 1,900 applications were received throughout 2024 for Certified Health Oklahoma. Each applicant received a comprehensive assessment that looked at how euectively they support health with a focus on strategies that address physical activity, nutrition, tobacco use and mental health, the press release said. Awardees were given one of three levels of the certification: excellence, merit and basic. The following are winners from Lincoln County.
