Guilty plea

A Harrah man, rather than go to trial, has pleaded guilty to two counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16.

Christian Watkins was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court with the two counts.

Recently, appearing before Associate District Judge Joe Dobry and as the results of a plea deal, withdrew his previous of guilty and entered a plea of nolo contendere. The judge found him guilty on both counts and the judge advised Watkins they were 85 percent crimes.

He handed Watkins a five-year suspended term to run concurrently and supervision by the Department of Corrections, ordered him to pay $100 fines on both counts and $100 VCAs on both counts along with 991 fees.

He further ordered Watkins to abide by the sex offender conditions and to register on the sex offender registry.

Assistant District Attorneys Kelly Trimble and Rachel Thompson prosecuted the case and Watkins Watkins was defended by Attorney James Hodgens.
