Turnpike updates

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) recently released updates on ongoing projects on turnpikes in the state, letting drivers know what to expect for the rest of the summer and into 2026. This includes two projects that are on-going in Lincoln County.

The westbound and eastbound lanes of the Turner Turnpike remain shifted at SH-66 Wellston due to the bridge reconstruction project. This is expected to last through fall 2025, though ramps remain open. Eastbound and westbound SH-66 remain closed in both directions between the off-ramps during this time.

At Stroud, the westbound lanes of the turnpike are narrowed from SH-99 to the service plaza through 2026 as part of an ongoing widening and realignment project. Additionally, the longterm commercial truck parking will be closed at the westbound service plaza through early 2026. This is part of a project to rebuild the McDonald’s and Love’s Travel Stop as well as update the parking lot. Drivers will still be able to access fuel, restrooms and food at the existing Love’s, but the McDonald’s will be temporarily closed. Also, drivers should expect lane shifts and changes in access as construction continues.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of the turnpike west of Kellyville have shifted and are narrowed.
