Poster winner

A Wellston student won a county-wide poster contest and will have her poster featured on billboards across Lincoln County in August, according to a press release from the Lincoln County Partnership for Child Well Being.

Avery Jackson won the grand prize for the “Believe There is Good - Be the Good” poster challenge, which “encouraged students to reflect on what it means to not only believe in the good around them, but to actively be that good in their schools and communities.” The contest was organized by the Lincoln County Partnership for Child Well Being.

“Avery’s artwork is a shining reminder of the impact kindness, compassion and community can have on the world around us,” the release said.

Another 10 students will have their entries featured in a special Academic School Year Calendar, which will be distributed to schools and partners in Lincoln County.

Those students are: Priscilla Campton, Auburn Koonce, Caleb Payne, Josalynn Her, Addison Blanton and Desarea Kulp of Wellston; Virtue Heinz and Bre Neal of Carney; Sara Seltzer of Agra; and Delilah Campbell of Meeker.

“Together we are planting the seeds of goodness in our communities - and thanks to the bright minds and big hearts of Lincoln County’s students, we are confident that the future is in good hands,” the press release said.
