Chandler Police

The Chandler Police Department responded to the following:

Friday, August 1

At 9:10 a.m., Ofc. Gilleland and Ofc. Hugueley responded to a gate being driven through near Bell Cow Lake. While there, Gilleland followed the path of the vehicle and discovered a truck that had been reported stolen the week before. They called a tow truck, and the vehicle was put under an investigation hold and taken in. The OSBI was called and planned to examine the truck on Aug. 8.

Saturday, August 2

At 8:17 a.m., Ofc. Gilleland responded to a neighbor dispute on S. Iowa. A woman stated that her neighbor threw dog feces on her porch and possibly hit her car with a broken shovel, breaking the passenger taillight. She wanted to file a report, though didn’t want to press charges at that time. The woman advised that she would install a security camera on the porch so she would have evidence that her neighbor was causing damage.

Tuesday, August 5

Lt. Phipps responded to a two-car incident at around 2 p.m. on Manvel and 5th Street, involving a white Ford Transit and a silver Cadillac XY5. Both vehicles were damaged but functional.

Wednesday, August 6

At around 9:57 a.m., Ofc.Wells arrived at the Oklahoma Court Services Office on Sandy Lane to take Jonathan Nice into custody for a Lincoln County warrant for felony child abuse. He transported him to Lincoln County Jail without incident.

Ofc.Wells responded to a one-car incident at 11:14 a.m. at N 3450 Rd near First and Sandy Lane involving a red vehicle. The driver was transported to Rural Wellness Stroud. The vehicle was damaged, but still functional.

At around 12:16 p.m., Ofc. Wells responded to a call from Patriot CDJR about a stolen vehicle. An employee informed Wells that a 2025 Ram 3500 Bighorn 4x4 with tinted windows had last been on the property on July 10 and was noted as missing during an audit a few days before. He stated he checked with other lots to make sure it wasn’t somewhere else before reporting it stolen. The keys were reportedly still in the vehicle.

Ofc. Wells responded to a two-car incident at around 1:22p.m.atLegionAve.nearKeithDuncanandParkRoad involving a Ford F-35 and a Nissan Rogue. There were no injuries, but there was minor damage to the Nissan.

Thursday, August 7

Ofc. Gilleland took a report at the Chandler Police Department at about 8:13 a.m. from a man who said someone may have shot out his windows at S. Oak Street. Gilleland went out to the address and saw two multi-paned windows with holes in them. Both the homeowner and Gilleland believe the damage was caused by a pellet or BB gun. Photos were taken, and the owner provided a voluntary written statement.

Monday, August 11

Ofc. Hawkins was on regular patrol at 12th and Manvel whenheobservedatruckdrivingnorthboundwithabusted windshield and no rear taillights. He initiated a traffic stop, and the driver told him she had just purchased the vehicle and didn’t have insurance. She also didn’t have a bill of sale. A check on her license and registration determined that the woman had a suspended license, and the wrong tag was on the vehicle. It was impounded while the driver was issued three citations for driving under suspension, no insurance, and improper tag display.

Wednesday, August 13

At around 6 p.m., Ofc. Hawkins responded to a two-car accident on 1st Street near Manvel, involving a Silver Toyota Tundra and a green Honda Pilot. There were no injuries, and both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Friday, August 15

Ofc. Schaefer was on patrol on W 15th Street when he saw a silver Nissan Pathfinder going 43 in a 25mph zone at around 6 p.m. He initiated a traffic stop and found that the registration had expired in June, and the insurance couldn’t be confirmed. The driver said she had it on her phone, but when asked to show it, she said her phone was broken. Schaefer called for a tow truck. While writing citations, the driver’s mother arrived and told Schaefer that the car would not be towed and began to yell at the tow truck driver. Schaefer informed her that they didn’t care who she knew in Chandler, the vehicle was being towed, and if she tried to stop it, she would be arrested. The driver received three citations: going 43 in a 25, no insurance, and expired registration.

Saturday, August 16

Ofc. Schaefer was on regular patrol on W 15th Street when he observed a pick-up truck doing a burnout at around 7:41 p.m. while running the stop sign at Brandon Road and West 15th Street. Before that, the truck had pulled out of the Chandler Terrace parking lot. Schaefer clocked the truck going 39 in a 25mph zone and pulled it over. The driver argued that a rolling stop wasn’t illegal, while Schaefer informed him that it was, and he was speeding. He then noticed a man in the backseat who had been trespassed from Chander Terrace. Schaefer asked him to get out of the car and arrested him for trespassing before transporting him to the Lincoln County Jail.

Sunday, August 17

Ofc. Schaefer was driving west on East 1st Street at around 6:50 p.m. when Ofc. Byford noticed a woman walking down the street whom he believed had a municipal warrant out. Schaefer kept an eye on the woman while Byford checked. Once it was confirmed and Byford had a physical copy, Schaefer arrested the woman and took her to the Lincoln County Jail. The warrant was for burning without a permit.

At around 10:10 p.m., Ofcs. Schaefer and Byford were inspecting the treeline behind Chandler Terrace apartments after reports that people were shooting guns back there. They came across a man lying on a bicycle. He had previously been trespassed from the complex for threatening people with knives. They began speaking to him, noting the smell of alcohol. Schaefer took his knives, noting other signs of intoxication. They found two dab pens, a vape, and someone else’s medical marijuana card on his person. The man was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail. He was booked on public intoxication, trespassing after being forbidden, possession of marijuana without a medical card, and possession of tobacco products under the age of 21.
