Chandler board hires staff

Chandler’s Board of Education members this week hired several new personnel and accepted the resignation of another.

Chandler School Supt. Scott Baade reported that the Student Dropout for School year 2024 was less than one percent and the Oklahoma State Regents Remediation report showed only six students needed remediation in math.

He said the following personnel were hired: Lauren Tate, an East Side aide; and paraprofessionals Kass Jones, Amanda Greenfield and Lexi Smith.

Board members accepted the resignation of Jackie Young, East Side Aide.

The board members held a public hearing for the purpose of taking public comments on financial matters including past and future expenditures of the district and to discuss the 2025-2026 budget.

They approved the Estimate of Needs and the financial statements for the FY 2025/2026 as prepared by Ralph Osborn, CPA.

They approved the encumbrance for substitute teachers and for certified contracts and support employees who have contracts starting in September of 2025.

Board members approved the new percentage set for the principals.

They approved the gifted and talented local advisory committee for the school year 2025 including Jennifer Savage, Pam Anderson, Kelli Robbins and Ann Taylor.

They approved the baseball team’s out of state trip to Gulf Shores, Ala., to play in a tournament March 15-20, 2026.

They approved revised policies on Tobacco being prohibited and Child Nutrition, Physical Fitness and Wellness.
