Meeker board approves estimate

Meeker Board of Education members this week approved the 2025-2026 Estimate of Needs and Financial Statement, voted to offer contracts to several people and accepted the resignation of one.

School Supt. Jeff Pruitt reported the 2025-2026 Estimate of Needs totals $11,422,055.66 and he said that is up a little bit.

Without going into executive session board members voted to offer contracts for the 2025-2026 school year to Emily Knight, high school/middle school cafeteria and Amanda Travers ES-Long Term substitute. They also agreed to offer Lane Cryer, extra duty in high school football.

They accepted the resignation of Shari Rector, high school/middle school cafeteria.

Board members approved the 2025-2026 Activity Funds including fundraisers/expenditures for the period Sep. 8, 2025 to Sep. 20, 2026.

They approved the FFA to attend the National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

They approved the operation of booster clubs in individual activity accounts for the 2025-2026 school year including archery, band, baseball, basketball, cheer, Cross Country/track, elementary PTO, football and softball.

They approved the sanction of the Parent Booster Club Groups for 2025-2026 school year, the Ag Boosters.

Board members renewed a contract with the Department of Rehabilitation Services Transition to Work for the 2025-2026 school year.

They approved a special services agreement with CTSA Head Start.

In their reports the principals related activities coming up and enrollment numbers.

High School Principal Brad Buxton reported 273 students, Middle School Principal Matt Jones said he has 168 and Elementary Principal Sarah Flowers said her enrollment is 330 and headed upwards.
