Office No. 1 in Dale school board open

Dale Board of Education members adopted a resolution this week for the annual school election for Board of Education Office.

Office No. 1 will be on the ballot and that is currently held by longtime member Tim Collins. Collins, who has served as a member of the board for 10 years, said he will not seek another term. He is currently serving as president of the board.

The board also approved the meeting dates for 2026 and approved lease agreements including the Reding property and two suburbans.

As part of his superintendent’s report, Jones went over the financial report which board members later confirmed.

Warrants through October of 2025 are $2,372,342. Through October of 2024 they were $2,065,864. Jones noted the warrants were up some due to the technology investment that has been made.

The Building Fund Cash Balance through October of 2025 is $514,556 and in October of 2024 it was $400,115.

General Funeral Cash Balance in October of 2025 was $877,517 and in October of 2024 was $1,203, 352.

State aid through October of 2025 is $1,192,592 compared with $1,132,609 in October of 2024, an increase of $59,983.

County Sales Tax Balance in October of 2025 is $343,097 and in October of 2024 it was $200,00, up $143,000 from a year ago.

The County Donation Fund in 2025 is $86,593 in October of 2025 compared to $69,740 in October of 2024, up $16,853.

Total Operating Funds through October, (General plus building and county sales tax) for FY 23 was $727,989, FY 24 $1,803,467 and in FY2025 is $1,735,170.

Board members also approved several fund raisers and booster clubs.

Elementary principal Tamee Daniel reported elementary enrollment is 339 students and Middle School Principal Kim Powell reported her enrollment stands at 290 students.
