The Lincoln County Commissioners approved a contract with Ride Share for a substance abuse pilot program at their regular meeting on July 6.
They approved a rate of $45 for pickup and the first 30 miles, along with a per-mile rate and a gas rate, to be paid from the opioid settlement fund. The program is to help determine transportation needs for individuals in mental health or substance abuse treatment and will work in part to get all the sober living homes on the same page. The Commissioners presented an update on construction at the fairgrounds, which is currently underway, and were updated on several grant opportunities that the County is pursuing regarding the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Use Program.
They also approved providing matching funds to municipalities that apply for grants through the Municipal Road DrillingActivity Fund. The County provided funds through this grant to Davenport in the last round. Carney, Meeker and Wellston may be applying in the next round, according to Grant Administration Leslie Wilbourn.
The Commissioners took no action on a few items, including a new intercom system for the jail, saying they needed more numbers. They did, however, approve a resolution on disposing of equipment in the Sheriff’s Office.
Other items that were approved are a quote from Apprentice for camera servers and a resolution for 911 payroll and benefits expenses and reimbursements. This is to cover the estimated $106,000 shortfall and was initially approved at a previous meeting.
The Commissioners also approved UseTax Resolution authorizing payment to WSB for grant writing services.
