A man has been charged with two felonies after a search warrant was carried out at a residence in Meeker on July 21.
Bobby Allen Whitson, 43, was charged with one felony count of possessing a firearm after a felony conviction and one felony count of knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property. The charges were filed by Lincoln County District Attorney Adam Panter on July 30. Whitson made his initial appearance onAug.13 and appeared for a pre-preliminary hearing on Aug. 20. He returns for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 15.
In November 2019, Whitson was convicted of burglary in the second degree, and in March 2018, he was convicted of burglary in the first degree, both felonies and both in Seminole County.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on July 21 at around 8 a.m., a search warrant was served by the Meeker Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department at a residence in Meeker. The search warrant was in relation to a burglary reported at a different residence in Meeker. Whitson and a woman were located inside the home and both were detained while officers searched for any coin collections, hunting rifles, knives, jewelry and any other firearms and ammunition.
The officers found eight BB pellet and airsoft handguns and rifles in the garage. They also located several coins packaged similary to ones located on July 14 at a different residence. All of the items were taken into police custody and transported to the MeekerPoliceDepartment, the affidavit said.
The victim of the burglary identified several coin collectibles, loose coins and stamp collections. She also identified an empty blue binder as hers. The coin collections were valued at approximately $1,500.
Whitson was then taken into custody, the report said.
