Paul Andrew Edgemon was the fourth child of eight, born to Richard Winferd Edgemon and Ruth Vandaveer Edgemon on May 14, 1947, in McAllen, Texas. Paul passed away on February 6, 2020, at the age of 72. He was married to Julie Marie Simon on June 6, 1969, and they were married for 50 years and 8 months.
Paul was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School in the class of 1965. He was a master carpenter and ended his working career as an Administrative Procurement Officer for the Oklahoma Military Department when he retired in 2010.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, John Arthur Edgemon, a brother-in-law, John C. Simon and two nieces, Kimmie Ellis and Martha Cheryl Couch, and two very close cousins, Gary Lemons and his brother, Bubs Lemons.
He is survived by his wife Julie Marie, a son, Larry and wife, Cindy, and a daughter, Patricia and husband, Paul, five grandchildren, Taylor and husband, Justin Salter, Keri Windle, Haley Edgemon, Garrett Edgemon, and Tiffani and husband, Dalton Holcomb, a great grandson, Miles Salter, and a great granddaughter to arrive soon.
Additional survivors are Paul’s sisters and brothers, Wanda Ruth Haggard, Boyd Edgemon and wife Brenda, Howard Edgemon and wife Diana, Marilyn Strickland, Deborah Schleif and husband, Bruce and Norma Joyce Meek and husband Ronnie, sister-inlaw Joyce Sparks and husband, Johnnie, Judy Miller, Janet Felton and husband, Tim, Jocelyn Wilbanks and husband, John, Cecilia Simon, and brother-inlaw Joe Simon and wife Liz. There are also many more family members and friends.
A Memorial Mass was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chandler, Oklahoma.
