Meeker Town Hall updates

The news media is hinting about maybe backing off on our COVID-19 Quarantine.

I know this has been very hard for a lot of us to do.

Maybe we will look back and see that it was the right thing to do after all. Hindsight is always so correct, so hang in there and let’s all keep doing what we are doing and hopefully this will go away soon.

A special thank you goes out to all the “essential workers”. They are all heroes in my book! All the City Employees are trying their best to keep water, sewer, trash and all the rest of the duties we do here for the Town, working as normal. Remember if you have water or sewer problems call the Police Department at 405-279-3931 and report it to them for after hours or holidays.

The Lake Project is in motion with surveyors and engineers at the Dam taking action.

This will be probably a 2-year project if not longer. This project will be like many of the others when we look back and say, “That wasn’t so long”.

The PWA guys are installing the new sewer line at the new Fire Station on Oak Street. We are still waiting on our new flagpole and flag which is being sponsored by Woodsmen.

The new Bobcat zero turn mower is mowing great. Hopefully we will have another Bobcat mower for the town in a couple of weeks. This one will be paid for out of the 2019/2020 PWA budget.

Chief Norton is still suggesting staying at home and keep your doors locked for the COVID-19 period.

Please continue to support all our drivethru restaurants, gas stations, Dollar Store and all other businesses that you can call and make appointments here in Meeker.

Look for the new planters that the Growth and Development has put at different locations around town. They will have different seasonal decorations. Bring your ideas and share with everyone.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Holy week. Keep washing those hands and social distancing.

I liked the newspaper new Header but did not care much for Brian Blansett’s/staff column snake story ha-ha, but it did end ok.
