The Meeker Board of Education this week approved continuing contracts for certified staff for the 2020-2021 school year and contracts for support staff for the 2020- 2021 school year.
Extra Duty contracts for 2020-2021 were also approved. The board members decided an executive session wasn’t necessary before approving all of those contracts along with three resignations and employment of a new elementary teacher in one motion.
School Supt. Jeff Pruitt, during his report, told the board, “In these difficult times I can’t tell you how good our staff has been. I applaud the efforts of our staff and how proud I have been.
“I think our staff and teachers have done a remarkable job. Our support staff, what our cafeteria people have done with the meal program, they are all rallying around our kids,” he continued.
“This has been a big challenge for them and I commend their efforts.”
High School Principal Brad Buxton during his report informed the board that “cafeteria personnel have been working extremely hard in preparing meals for the week.
“They served 154 students 10 meals each today which feeds each student breakfast and lunch for the entire week.”
The meals are picked up and taken home since students are continuing their education through distance learning.
Board President Marc Chapman in board comments echoed Pruitt’s remarks and agreed how proud he was of all the staff, teachers and support personnel.
