A Celebration of Life was held for former Chandler resident Lonnie Ray Smith on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church in Ardmore, Okla., with the Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Burial with military honors followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home .
Smith was born January 2, 1938, in Chandler and died Friday, November 20, 2020, at his home in Ardmore. He was 82 years old.
A Chandler High School graduate, he served in the United States Navy and retired from Uniroyal Tire Company in Ardmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Stanley and Cora Edith Stice Smith, his daughter Debra G. Hunt and four siblings.
Survivors include his wife 61 years, Clara Fern Sutherland Smith of the home; three children and their spouses, Darla K. Smith, Donald G. and Juanette Smith and David R. and Rana Smith; one sister; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
