Town Talk Bingo will be held on Thursday, March 26th at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizen’s Center on Main Street.

We are changing things up this time and hosting it in a new location. We will be using their lighted Bingo board so you shouldn’t miss out on a single number called.

Since it’s March, we are calling it Lucky Bingo so who knows, everyone might go home a winner.

Cost is a $10 donation to community improvement projects and Town Talk will provide the dessert.

Please bring a gently used item from home to be used as a prize. This is no blarney, we promise you a fun evening!

Arthur and Betty Thompson own the building on Main Street that currently is the home of Heather Black’s “Welcome Home” store.

If you haven’t been in to see Heather, you are missing a shopping treat.

She has a little bit of everything from furniture to jewelry to collectibles and much more. You never know what you might find as the inventory is ever-changing.

Back to the Thompsons – they own one of Stroud’s oldest buildings, originally the site of a former hotel.

I think it was called The Stroud Hotel, but if one of you readers know something different please let me know.

Betty Thompson even told me that it is rumored the infamous Belle Starr once spent a night there. There is a plaque on the west side of the building denoting its historical significance.

The building just got a fresh coat of paint and it looks great. Amazing what a little “lipstick” will do for a building.

Thanks to the Thompsons for “spiffing up” their building just in time for tourist season on Route 66.

We have a new store coming to Main Street in the storefront formally known as The Show. Michelle Dunn Whitson is opening a children’s consignment store named The Treasure Box.

It will be a children’s consignment store, but Michelle will also be renting booths to consignors and vendors who will be selling all sorts of other items.

She still has a few spots open so if you are interested you may contact her for more information and an application.

The store will be open for its first day of business on April 17th, but April 18th will be the official grand opening with door prizes and hot dogs so mark your calendars now.

The Treasure Box will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Town Talk will meet this Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Mazzio’s. Anyone who is interested in helping with community improvement projects is welcome to attend.

Have a great week and remember to shop and dine local………. first!
