Chandler had its way against Class 4A Bristow Friday, scoring early and often en route to a 41-14 pasting of the Pirates.

The Lions, now 2-0, got off to a 21-14 second quarter lead and stayed on the gas the remainder of the game.

Sophomore Casmen Hill led the Lions’ offense with four touchdowns and 185 yards on 27 carries, with Jarin Greenfield adding 70 yards on two pass receptions.

“You have to play great against a team like that,” said Lions head coach Jack Gray. “They were 10-1 last year and have a great program.

“With the offense they have, they scare everybody.

“We had great effort from everyone on the team. This was our test to see if we could play against some big guys, the big dogs.

Having passed that test, the Lions host Beggs Friday. Traditionally one of the top teams in Class, the Demons are 0-1 this year after losing the opener to Lincoln Christian and have a cancellation against Rejoice Christian.

I think our guys will be ready for them,” Gray said. “We don’t have any fear of playing anyone any more.”

Certainly, there was no fear of playing up two classes against Bristow

Hill ran for a score to get the Lions off an early 7-0, then Spencer Clagg added another later in the period to make it 14-8.

Hill closed out the first-half scoring with a 13-yard run.

Quarterback Kaden Jones ran in from 25 yards out in the third quarter, then Hill scored from eight and three yards out to close the scoring.

Kyle Snodgrass and Braxden Burnes led the defense with tackles and four solo stops each. Greenfield added seven, with three solos.

Jones finished with 146 yards of total offense, with 53 rushing and 93 passing on five completions.

After the Beggs game the Lions begin district play by going to Crossings Christian on Sep. 25.
