Stroud gets revenge with home sweep
The regular season began its wind-down to the playoffs last week with some in-county matchups between Chandler, Wellston and Stroud. Wellston’s boys held off a comeback by the host Lions on a cold Tuesday night and won 60-2, while the 17th-ranked Chandler girls won, 54-20.
Three nights later, it was Stroud’s turn to sweep Chandler, avenging an earlier pair of losses.
The Lady Tigers won going away, 48-16, and the boys followed with a 56-49 victory, their second win of the year.
Chandler headed to Prague on Tuesday night, then returns home to close the regular season against Holdenville. The Lions will go to Perry for district play.
Wellston hosted North Rock Creek Tuesday, closes the regular season at Drumright and then goes to Latta for the playoffs.
Stroud hosted Okemah on Tuesday, hosts Seminole on Friday and goes to Holdenville next week.
The Tigers go to Pawnee for district play.
