Morgan named to SSC Rural Business Center position

The Seminole State College Educational Foundation has announced the hiring of former state representative Danny Morgan of Prague to direct the SSC Rural Business and Resources Center. The Center provides economic development assistance in the College’s five-county service area.

COVID deaths continue climb

The number of deaths in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped by five again over the past week and all of those are in Pottawatomie County, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports.

Meeker sewer on agenda

Meeker’s Town Board has called for a meeting next Monday, March 8, to determine how they will pay for a major sewer and manhole project. Town Administrator Dickie Walton said the meeting is scheduled for noon at Town Hall.

The Meeker Town Board during its most recent meeting took action on two agenda items and no action on another. They voted to lock the front door at Town Hall until further notice, Town Administrator Dickie Walton said.
