Meeker board amends retirement system

Meeker’s Town Board of Trustees this week approved an ordinance amending the employee retirement system and defined benefit plan for the Town of Meeker.They adopted a revised and restated retirement plan to eligible employees for the Town approved by the IRS.

Hearing waived

A driver from Texas stopped and arrested on the Turner Turnpike and facing a felony drug count after 62 pounds of marijuana were seized has waived his preliminary hearing and his arraignment has been set.

Innocent pleas

A woman from Meeker and a Shawnee man, each charged with three felonies, have pleaded innocent to all the counts. Their cases have been scheduled for a December felony disposition docket.

Two die in county crash

A woman from Paden and a man from Prague have died in a two-vehicle, head-on collision west of Prague in Lincoln County.State Trooper Nathan Jackson, who investigated the collision, identified two who died as Lacey Collins, 38, of Paden and Norman Pyattet, 48 of Prague.

Hearing set in weapon-in-jail case

A pre-preliminary hearing is scheduled for a defendant who was arrested by a Wellston police officer for driving while under the influence of intoxicating alcohol, reportedly pulled a gun and attempted to shoot a Lincoln County Sheriff’s jailer who was patting him down.
