Spring has sprung in Stroud, Oklahoma. Thank you to Nissa Hughes, Vivian Henshaw, Julie Bivin and Andrea Thompson for painting bicycles and planting flowers to give our Main Street that look that says, “Welcome to our town.” These ladies put in many late-night hours to make this all come together.

Opening performance of the 33rd annual International Finals Youth Rodeo at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center in Shawnee is just a little over two months away.Entries opened on April 1 and they close on June 13.But things could be a little different for this year’s IFYR.

Local school boards, like all other public entities, are expected to comply with the state’s Open Meeting Law.In fact school board members are required to attend and complete a certain number of hours of education and the Open Meeting Act is part of that.There’s a good reason for the law.

Easter Sunday was a great day with the family. We even had the grandson Liam spend a night with us over the weekend.My wife Pat had gone over Friday afternoon to be with our daughter Meghan in Norman and she brought him him back with her early Friday evening.

Town Talk Thursday, April 10, 2025 I was driving into town from the south and as always turned right onto Main Street.
