TheStroudArcheryTournament was held from Dec. 4 through 6 at the Route 66 Coliseum with around 30 schools participating, including Stroud, Chandler, North Rock Creek, Meeker andPrague.Thetournament was open to students from elementary school up to high school.

Being from Carney has shaped Brooklyn Allen.The senior cheerleader said it’s helped her make closer-knit friend groups and tight communication with others, and more.

Quarterback Jeremiah Cropp and receiver Aiden Collins connected on back-to-back touchdown passes in the second quarter, changing the momentum of the game and lifting Stroud to a 49-14 win over Wyandotte in the state quarterfinals Friday night.

The Chandler Lions scored on their first possession and dominated the game, but Kiefer scored on its last possession and won it.The 20-15 verdict in the first round of the playoffs marked the end of the Lions’ season.

Tigers keep on rolling

Stroud rolled past Beggs, 49-21 Friday to charge into this week’s Class 2A-II state quarterfinals.They’ll take on the Wyandotte Bears at Jack Poskey Stadium Friday, with the winner advancing to face the winner of the Adair-Holdenville game in next week’s semifinals.

Chandler wrestlers medal at tournament

Chandler wrestlers brought home six medals from the 32nd Annual Mark Peck Westmoore Tournament.Those earning the hardware were: Landon Earp - 1st place Derek Perkins - 2nd Place Lizzy Pryor - 2nd Place Brylee Waldman - 2nd Place Jack Maguire - 3rd Place Lexi Ledford - 3rd Place.
