Turnpike drivers will start to see more construction in 2025 after the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority board approved updates to construction management contracts for ACCESS Oklahoma in their monthly meeting on Tuesday, according to a press release.

It was the COVID year of 2020 and the Stroud Tigers’ football team was struggling.A year after the team went 11-1, Josh Presley was the new head coach and the Tigers were struggling every week.They lost to Meeker, 54-7, and to ancient rival Chandler, 48-0.

Hearing set for driver after two-car crash

A pre-preliminary hearing has been set for a driver from Shawnee facing a felony count and a misdemeanor charge following a two-vehicle personal injury traffic collision at U.S. 177 and Highway 66 near Wellston.

November trial set for Sparks man

A Sparks man facing four felonies and a couple of misdemeanors has waived a jury trial and his bench trial has been scheduled for November.Formal felony charges were filed May 4, 2022 in Lincoln County District Court against James Leonard Smothers, 41 following his arrest by Lincoln County deputies.
