Democrats in the area are invited to the next meeting of the Lincoln County Democratic Party on Thursday, Feb. 8. It will take place in Chandler at the Destinations restaurant, according to the group. Dinner and conversation will kick off at 6 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

New pastor installed at Christian Church

The First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Chandler, announced the installation of its new pastor on Jan. 21. Lori Brisco Smithey is the new leader of the church, which has been shepherded by numerous pastors since it was established in late 1891, according to a release.

Last week’s ice storm across Central Oklahoma heavily damaged Lincoln County area roads and it will take some time to fix them. It impacted travel for those who use the roads daily, among them school buses and businesses.

Prague man pleads guilty

A Prague man has entered a blind guilty plea on a first degree manslaughter charge and his sentencing has been scheduled. A formal charge was filed March 2 this year in Lincoln County District Court against Joseph Resin Linnhuber. The charge is the result of a fatal traffic collision.
The Wellston Masonic Lodge 369 presents a check to Randy Franklin. The check was from a recent fundraiser and auction held in Wellston in December sponsored by the Wellston Masonic Lodge, plus matching funds from the Masonic Charity Foundation. This fundraiser had great support from Randy’s family and the Wellston Community. A special thanks to Ronald Whitnah the auctioneer.
