The Chandler City Council heard requests from the former director of Public Works to address the condition of the city’s water lines and city residents to reconsider the removal of stop signs at Price and Third at their monthly meeting on Dec. 12.

Early holiday deadlines

We’ll close the Lincoln County News office on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, which are on Mondays this year. Monday holidays also mean we’ll have early deadlines for news, ads, obits and legals for those editions. The deadline for the Dec. 28 and the Jan. 4 editions will be 5 p.m.

Lions of the Month for December announced

Joshua Baugher, Harley Cole and Jentrie Gibson have been named the December Lions of the Month by the Lions Club. Joshua Baugher is the son of Annie Baugher.

Chandler school board meeting

Chandler Board of Education members this week hired several personnel and accepted the resignations of a couple of others. School Supt. Scott Baade said Amber Norris was hired as a cafeteria worker, Sara Andis was employed as a reading specialist for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.
