Lincoln County District Judge Traci Soderstrom, suspended since last October when the State Supreme Court filed a petition seeking her removal from office, has resigned her position. The resignation was effective as of 5 p.m. Feb. 9.

We had a strange few days of weather in Central Oklahoma, going from highs in the 70s last week to alternating snow, rain and sleet on Sunday, all without the temperature going below freezing. It’s not often that students get to be heroes to their teachers. For English teacher Carol Oswalt, that’s exactly what happened when a former student stepped up and offered to donate a kidney. “It’s pretty amazing,” she said while tearing up. “I loved her when I had her as a student.

Trial set for Sparks man

A jury trial has been scheduled for the ongoing jury term for a Sparks man charged with four felonies and two misdemeanors. Formal felony charges were filed May 4, 2022 in Lincoln County District Court against James Leonard Smothers, 41 following his arrest by Lincoln County deputies.
