Davenport golfer takes second

Fisher Reed of Davenport took second at the Olive Golf Tournament last week He shot a 76 and was tied with Wes Burns of Metro Christian. Burns won on the first hole of a playoff to earn the title. Reed, a junior, also took second at the Wewoka tournament with an 80, one stroke out of the lead.

Michele “Mickey” Elaine Howe was born December 1, 1956, to Clyde and Jane Howe. She had four siblings, Kari, Mike, Debbie, and David Howe.

Harold Parker Sneed

On March 9, 2022, Harold Parker “Parker” Sneed passed away at the age of 74 at his home in Stroud, Okla. Parker Sneed owned/operated Parker’s Pawn Shop for 41 years, which was the longest running business in town.

Merlin Dale Bridge was born to Merlin J. Bridge and Alpha Fay (Mendenhall) Bridge on February 11, 1938, in Chandler, Okla. He married Frances Ruth Burk on June 9, 1960, in Chandler, and to them, were born five children.

Kenneth Leon Williams

Kenneth Leon Williams was born November 29, 1932, and died March 12, 2022, in Stroud. He was 89 years old. Williams, who grew up in Stroud with his mother Edith and stepfather Woodrow W. Sosbee, married Peggy Sue Hicks of Davenport of August 20, 1954.

Richard Hobill

Richard “Rich” Hobill of Chandler, Okla., was born to Bob and Marie Hobill on January 5, 1948, in Downey, Calif. He passed away on March 9, 2022, at the age of 74. Rich is a veteran of the United States Army and worked in construction as a master carpenter for most of his life.

Minnie Lou Wade

Minnie Lou Wade, 81, was born September 15, 1940 in Lamar, Okla., to Dan and Ida Lee (Brown) Dickerson. She passed away March 12, 2022 in Wellston surrounded by her family. Minnie was a faithful member of The Way to Jerusalem Church in Wellston. She loved everyone and loved God.
