Peggy Ellen Gardner

Peggy Ellen Gardner was born May 1, 1946, in Stroud and died Saturday, February 5, 2022, at her home in Cushing, Okla. She was 75 years old. Gardner, a graduate of Stroud High School, retired from working in the payroll department at Gulf Stream and worked at Stroud Best Western Motel.

Meeker rehires administrators

Meeker Board of Education members during a meeting this week rehired administrators and the athletic director. They also listened to a presentation by Bledsoe, Hewitt and Gullekson on the 2020-2021 audit.

Additional charges for Stroud man

A Stroud man who was wanted on a $15,000 bench warrant has appeared in Lincoln County District. But he also faces additional charges in a separate case. Nicholas James Worden, 42, of Stroud, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Jan.

Shouse promoted

Derrick Shouse has been promoted to Retail Banking Officer with Vision Bank. Derrick is a graduate of Meeker High School. He has worked at Vision Bank for 10 years. He and his wife Marisa have a daughter Mikaylie.

Child abuse charges filed

Bench warrants were recently issued for the arrest for a couple for allegedly abusing an eight-year-old child. A charge of child abuse was formally filed in Lincoln County District Court Feb. 8 against Aaron Curtis Richardson, 29, of Tryon.
