By Mike McCormick Staff Writer A Sparks man, with a previous conviction, faces a felony and a misdemeanor following his arrest recently.
Billy Ray Moore., 44, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court with possessing firearms after conviction or during probation, a felony.
He appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk and she set bond at $6,000. She scheduled his initial appearance for July 1.
In the felony count, Moore is accused on May 16, 2024 in Lincoln County of possessing at his residence a handgun, a deadly firearm, after havingbeenconvictedon March 4, 2009 in Lincoln County District Court of obtaining merchandise and money by means of false and bogus check.
The misdemeanor c h a rg es him on the same day of possessing a quantity of methamphetamine, a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
