The McLoud City Council appointed a new deputy city clerk during its most recent meeting and members also tabled five agenda items.
Mayor Stan Jackson declared after the meeting, “We tabled more items tonight than we have at any other meeting since I’ve been mayor.”
City Manager Buck Day said the new deputy city clerk is Jo Haley.
Council members did approve a $25,000 amendment to the city budget.
City Clerk Cynthia Wayman explained the amendment was for code enforcement.
The Council agreed to a lot split and rezoning of real property at 4560 S. Arena Rd.
A public hearing was held prior to a vote being taken and it was noted the Planning Commission had recommended approval.
Council members approved the city of Shawnee Kubota contract for Fiscal Year 2022.
They also approved an agreement for rental and servicing of portable toilets with Klassic Tap, LLC.
The Council approved an ordinance and the emergency clause for the retirement plan for City Manager Buck Day.
After considerable discussion, the Council authorized the city to apply for a grant for radios with Homeland Security.
They listened to a presentation on the Pioneer Library Systems and they watched a brief video as part of that. It was pointed out that McLoud’s Public Library is open seven days a week totaling 51 hours. It’s annual total payroll is $343,000.
Council members approved additional service time for Monica Poindexter’s Uniformed Service.
They tabled any action on the following items.
The Pioneer Library Systems Contract for FY 2022.
An appointment of Rayven Kirk to the Pioneer Library Systems Board of Trustees.
Approval of an ordinance and its emergency clause on the city retirement plan.
Establishing a procedure for the settlement and/or resolution and/or payment of claims against the city whether or not such claims are covered by insurance or other third parties.
Modification of the public duck and deer hunting policies and drawing procedures at Wes Watkins Lake.
Meeting as the Public Works Authority, the Trustees approved a $40,000 budget amendment on a 4-1 vote. In favor were Trustees Stan Jackson, Ralph Snider, Steven Tomaszewski and Larry Dillon.
Trustee Daniel McClure, Jr., voted in opposition.
