Meeker High School named Breanna Pearcy as Valedictorian and Mary Beth Frerichs as Salutatorian for 2022.
The students were recognized at the commencement ceremony, Friday, May 13, 7:30 pm at Firelake Arena, in Shawnee.
Breanna Pearcy
The daughter of Brent and Delayna Pearcy, Valedictorian Breanna Pearcy has attended Meeker Public Schools since 1st grade. She has achieved a 4.0 grade point average and is ranked first in her class at Meeker High School.
Pearcy has taken concurrent classes for two years and taken weighted classes throughout High School. She is the Senior Class President, an Academic Letter Jacket Recipient, and is in the running for the Student of the Year Award.
Additionally, Pearcy has been named Vyve Basketball Player of the Week, Oral Roberts All-Star team player, Basketball Homecoming Queen, and is the Co-Captain of the Lady Bulldogs Varsity Basketball Team.
She has served as the Student Council Community Outreach Officer and is a member of the Vision Bank Financial Leadership Council. She is part of the Oklahoma National Honor Society, Meeker Chapter National Honor Society and served as a Meeker Girls State Representative, and Fish Club Member.
Her involvement in her community includes through Church Vacation Bible School, National Honor Society 9/11 Flag Memorial, Kids Basketball Camps, and Kelsie’s Journey.
She has babysat, mowed for the elderly, and assisted with the Student Council Trunk or Treat and Winter Sock Drive, and sheltered an injured dog.
Pearcy works for D & D cleaning Services as well as working the baseball gate at Meeker home baseball games.
After high school graduation, she plans to attend Rose State College in Fall 2022, through the President Leadership Council Scholarship, to get her Business Degree.
Then she plans to attend graduate school for a Master’s in Business Administration.
Mary Beth Frerichs
Salutatorian Mary Beth Frerichs has attended Meeker Schools since Pre-K, and holds a 3.89 grade point average.
The daughter of Sue Ellen and Darrell Frerichs, she joined the National Technical Honor Society, The Nation al Society of High School Scholars and the Oklahoma High School Honor Society in 2020.
In 2018, she was recognized as an Outstanding
Algebra I Student. She was named Regional STEM Standout in 2019.
Frerichs was accepted into the Pre-Engineering Academy at Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Aug. 2019. She attended the academy from then to now, and served as Pre-Engineering (GCTC) Student Ambassador.
She was a member of the National Honor Society Chapter of Meeker High School from May 2020-Present.
At the USAO Academic Meet in April 2019, Fr erichs placed second in Biology.
She was named to the Principal’s Honor Roll, in 2018-2021, and participated in the STEM Leadership Conference in 2019-2020.
Additionally, Frerichs was active in school athletics, playing varsity basketball, and serving as Field/Manager for high school track and field.
For the SkillsUSA American Spirit Chapter, she served as President, and was Junior Class Vice-President.
In her community, Frerichs volunteers with Back-To-School Basics as Jr. Coordinator, Shawnee Splash as an Aquatics Volunteer & Jr. Guard, and the American Red Cross.
She volunteers her time with several STEM organizations including SOAR STEM Camp in 2016-2018, and FIRST Robotics from 2016 to the present.
She is also a STEM Facilitator/Workshop Host for Engineering Day, Girl Power, and Mother-Daughter STEM Night
Frerichs is a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and attends youth group.
Other organizations with which she has volunteered include Family Promise, Fireball Classic Race, and International Youth Finals Rodeo
Previously, Frerichs worked two summers at Shawnee Splash, lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons.
And this summer, she has been hired by Gordon Cooper Technology Cen ter to teach at their kids camp. After that, she plans to attend East Central University (ECU) in Fall 2022 as a Pre-Engineering major before transferring to a different college as an undecided engineering major.
