Edna Mae Bates was born to Martin Luther and Eva Mae (Bolt) Dunnam on June 11, 1921, in Spiro, Okla. She died Tuesday, January 7, 2020, in Chandler at the age of 98 years.
Bates was a Christian and a staunch Southern Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 39 years, Dan Allen Bates.
Survivors include her children, Danyne Robins, Barry Bates and wife Laureen, and John Bates and wife Susie; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and other family and friends.
A funeral service was held Friday, January 10, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Wellston with the Rev. Dennis Osborn officiating.
Burial followed at Perkins Cemetery in Perkins, Okla., under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
