1. Update on Meeker Lake “Quapaw 15 Project”

The Soil Conservation group from Chandler chose a contractor to take the 24” water pipe apart for the camera to do an inspection on the inside of the pipe.

This is the pipe from the Meeker Lake water control tower that runs under the dam. We are waiting on the report from the engineers at Oklahoma City about the pipe, then the contractor will reconnect the pipe.

We hope for a good report. A good report will result in the $100,000 for replacing that pipe, can be used somewhere else on the project.

2. Update on Glenncrest Park

The playset manufacture called and delayed the July 27th delivery date.

There will be a 2 -3 week delay. COVID-19 strikes again. Washed sand has been delivered for the volleyball court. The volleyball border has been delivered.

Volleyball post has been ordered. One basketball pole is being manufactured now and one pole is being relocated. All parking lot post have trees removed. OG&E is engineering new LED lights.

Negotiations is going on now with the county for our asphalt parking lot.

It appears at this time we will have the asphalt delivered by the asphalt company “Bailey’s” from Carney.

They are the cheapest. Then the Lincoln county guys will lay the asphalt and roll it in for us.

We are still hoping for an August completion goal for the park. Weather Permitting!!

3. Update on Growth and Development

They have a tentative date for the Pumpkin Festival for October 3rd. A lot of new ideas and games are being discussed.

4. Update for Chamber of Commerce

They have an August 8th date set for the City Wide garage sale.

The Fire Department has no plans for any B.B.Q. sales this year.

5. T-Set (Tobacco settlement)

I have been invited to become a T-Set member by Sherry Ripley and David Smith/Oklahoma Health Department to be this area’s representative for T-Set.

B. Earl Hall, PWA Superintendent, has additional training going on for Joe Jones and Charles

Crowley for their advancement to a higher license.

10. Grants

A. I applied for and we were awarded for Capital lmprovement Plan $10,000. This is our 5-10- 20 Year plan. This grant is from COEDD.

B. I’ve already mentioned the $170 – 180,000 grant from I.H.S. Indian Health Services.

C. As soon as we can close out the grant on the new Fire substation, which will be this month or next. I have discussed with Pat McCormick from COEDD and she has advised us on a $450,000 grant, which COEDD will keep $25K and we will be eligible for the remainder of $425,000 to be used for our match on our $1.7 million dollar grant we have working on for the Rehab, rebuild sewer, man holes and 17,.000 linear feet of sewer lines.

So that means the Town of Meeker would not have to apply for a loan, present and sales tax increase for vote to the public or present a municipal bond to the people.

These last 3 tax incentives could be used at a later date for other improvements.

11. No D.E.Q. violations
