Brothers picked up for grow facility burglary

Two men have been charged with two counts of burglary and one count of conspiracy, with one pleading guilty, according to court documents.

Jacob Jones, 23, from Prague, and his brother Bryon Harris-Jones, 30, from Okemah, were charged on May 12 with two felony counts of burglary in the second degree and one felony count of conspiracy for an incident that took place on May 2, the filing said.

On May 28, Jacob pled guilty and was given a sentence of seven years suspended, a $100 fine, $100 VCA, court costs and to pay the 991 fees. He also must complete 24 hours of community service by September 2026. Bryon appeared for his pre-preliminary hearing on May 28 and returned to court on July 16 for a preliminary hearing.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Dep. Greg Smith and Patrol Sgt. Cody Coleman with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a grow facility in Prague to check out suspicious activity. The reporting party said they saw people on the security cameras and sent screenshots of two individuals.

After clearing the buildings, the two headed to a house on the property, and it was there that they saw the two suspects. They managed to run off. Later, Investigator Brandon Nessarella arrived and began taking photographs. The affidavit said they found a backpack, phone, inhalers and other items. While searching, the cell phone rang with a call from a woman, who gave authorities the name of the person who owned the phone -- Jacob Jones.

The authorities went to the residence listed on Jacob’s driver’s license, which was about three miles away from the grow facility, and made contact with a man who identified himself as Jacob’s father. The report said that while Dep. Smith was speaking with the man, Sheriff Kevin Garrett arrived and informed them that they had picked up Bryon Jones walking down a nearby road toward the residence. The man then identified him, saying he was also his son.

Dep. Smith noted that Bryonwaswearingtheshirt seen in the screenshots sent to him from the reporting party.

Bryon was arrested for burglary in the second degree and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. After Dep. Smith and others left the residence, they were informed by Investigator Ocasio that he had Jacob Jones down the road from the house. He was then transported to Lincoln County Jail as well, according to the affidavit.

When they arrived at the jail, Jacob informed Dep. Smith that he was out on a $5,000 bond for unauthorized use of a deadly weapon and false imprisonment out ofDeerNationLightHorse, and that he was supposed to get a deferred sentence.

The report said that authorities attempted to interview both brothers, though only spoke with Bryon as Jacob asked for a lawyer.
