Girl Scouts donate to Safe Routes to School

    Girl Scout Troop #919 of Chandler donated $1,000 to the Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Project (Phase 2) recently. This was their final service project before disbanding the Troop. Several girls who are now Juniors in High School have been active since Kindergarten in 2012. This is a multi-level Troop with HS Juniors and 1st-3rd-graders. Girl Scout Troops receive 60 cents per box of cookies sold back to their Troop funds. The $1,000 donation represents 1,666 boxes of cookies sold. Additionally, the girls established hygiene closets at the Junior High and High School at the beginning of this school year.
