The Stroud School Board approved staff changes and renewals at their regular meeting on May 12. They then held a special meeting on May 21 to address additional staffing, including a new high school principal.
At the May 12 meeting, the Board approved the superintendent’s recommendation for the renewal of contracts for certified personnel, extra-duty athletic coaching assignments, extra-duty controls for non-athletic coaching assignments, and full-time support and office administrative staff for the 202526 school year.
They also approved the hiring of Kelsy Young as an elementary special education teacher and Leslie Martin as a high school art teacher. The accepted the resignations of Sharon Emmons as a certified teacher at the Sac and Fox Juvenile Detention Center, Carrie Bounds as junior high/high school softball coach and Haley Dean as special education director.
At the special meeting, the School Board approved the hiring of Nicholas Hoover as the high school principal, Ashlyn Bolzrichter as an elementary teacher, Marla Wahl as an elementary school special education teacher, Kelsy Young as the director of special education, Sarah Wright as a certified teacher at the Sac and Fox Juvenile Detention Center, Lynita Hixon as the federal programs director and Ali Johnson as a middle school coach.
Additionally, the Board approved the purchase of band instruments on the basis of quotes presented to them by Director Kevin Couch. The instruments are not to exceed $242,000. They approved the overnight stay request for FCCLA district officer training, summer leadership summit and the FCCLA National Convention in June and July.
The Board also approved the following contracts, among other items: - Virtual support contract with TeleComp Holdings, Inc. on annually renewable basis for 2024 to 2027 at $160,000 per year.
- Network maintenance agreement with TeleComp Holdings Inc. from 2024 to 2027 for $180,690 per year.
- Contract with Global 7 for DOT drug and alcohol testing for bus drivers and extracurricular students.
- Membership agreement with O.S.S.B.A. for 2025-26 school year at $3,593, policy renewal contract for 2025-26 school year, and policy services with O.S.S.B.A. for the 202526 school year at cost of $1,200.
- Master services agreement and associated Thrillshare Media Subscription through Apptegy, Inc. for $9,262.
