1. Update on Citizen of the Year
A. Now that we have had time for it to sink in, it is great for my peers to acknowledge my accomplishments. I have acquired approx. 28 million dollars’ worth of improvements that are coming our way. This week we are seeing approx. $65K worth of asphalt on North & South Koonce Street.
2. Update on Grants
A. Pat McCormick from COEDD presented to the Trustees a $450K grant for the Town to use towards the beginning phases for new water lines.
B. Stephen Frosch, with Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC., is working on a grant from USDA for $150K fir repairs from the winter storm damage.
C. We also discovered frozen contacts in our control box at the Wastewater Plant. Also, the control pump computer received damage due to the cold & had to be replaced & reprogrammed. These repairs were very expensive & had to be done by Haynes Equip. Co. who put all the equipment at the Sewer Plant when it was being built.
3. Update on Growth & Development
A. Att. Hodgens made a suggestion to let the Growth & Development to go ahead & operate at the Old Car Wash till October. Then negotiations will continue on their lease. The Trustees agreed.
4. Update on Glenn Crest Park
A. Additional dirt work has been completed for the new Top Turf sod.
B. OG&E replaced a broken light pole in the park. The semi-truck left major ruts that will have to be filled & repaired. The soft ground could not hold the heavy weight of the big truck, but we can fix it.
C. Custom Cut Graphics installed sponsors names on park benches & playground equipment this week.
D. Be looking for the new 12’ x 21’ pavilion next week with its shiny red roof.
E. Robbie Hulstine placed the blocks & covered them with concrete. Now we wait for a little drying time & then he will put his finishing touches & mount the Welcome sign.
F. I can see the ribbon cutting time soon, for the Grand Opening. (No date announcement yet).
5. Update on City Hall
A. The Trustees did vote to open the front door back open.
B. They also voted to not wear a mask while meeting with City Employees.
C. It is still up to the individual to wear a mask or not.
