A warrant has been issued for a Chandler area man after equipment allegedly stolen from a job site was discovered on his property.
Shannon Wayne Nicholas, 51, was formally charged on April 6 in Lincoln County District Court with receive/conceal stolen construction/farm equipment. A $15,000 bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
He is accused of knowingly and intentionally having in his possession and under his control at his residence at 890759 S. 3410 Road in Chandler in Lincoln County a farm/ construction item on about April 1.
The felony information filed against Nicholas states the item is a Kubota Tractor and implements which belonged to J&S Equipment, with an estimated value of $50,000.
The tractor reportedly was stolen from a construction site within Lincoln County on about March 31 this year.
Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff George Kelly Coleman states in a probable cause affidavit that on April 1 he spoke to Billy McCarn at a construction site approximately one-third of a mile north of 1020 Road on the east side of SH 102 in Lincoln County.
He said McCarn wanted to report a theft of an orange Kubota L39 tractor with front end loader and back hoe bucket. McCarn told Coleman there is a welded jig for a “cherry picker” on the bucket and it also has a hydraulic thumb on the bucket.
McCarn advised the deputy that the tractor was at the site about 3 p.m. the previous day and when he returned to the property the tractor was missing.
