Hearings have been continued for two men charged in a shooting at an On Cue in Stroud last Oct. 9.
The State Attorney General’s Office filed amended information on Oct. 28 in Lincoln County District Court on Jeffrey Lee Battey, 57, Ponder, Texas who faces two charges in connection with the shooting.
Ray Arnold Allen, 52, Krum, Texas, faces three charges.
Battey is charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Special Judge Emily Mueller initially ordered Battey be held without bond. During his initial appearance Oct. 28, she reduced Battey’s bond to $250,000. She ordered him to have no contact with the victim, to have no firearm, no drugs or alcohol as a condition of the bond.
He is subject to random drug and alcohol screenings. His pre-preliminary hearing had been set for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20, 2022.
By agreement of all parties, that hearing was moved to 1:30 p.m. on March 17.
Allen faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of feloniously pointing a firearm.
Judge Mueller initially set bond for Allen at $1 million. During his initial appearance on Oct. 28, she reduced his bond to $200,000 with the same conditions she ordered for Battey.
His pre-preliminary hearing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20, 2022. That hearing has been continued to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 24 following a request by the state.
In Count 1, Battey is accused of on Oct. 9 shooting a firearm at Eddie Wilson and striking Wilson.
Count 2 charges him with shooting at Greg Houlter with the intent of injuring him.
The first count against Allen accuses him of shooting a firearm at multiple persons at the On Cue in Stroud on Oct. 9 with the intent to injure them.
Count 2 charges him with feloniously pointing a firearm at Eddie Wilson with the purpose of causing emotional intimidation.
In Count 3, he is accused of feloniously pointing a firearm at Greg Houlter intending to cause him emotional intimidation.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reportedly is handling the cases and the State Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting them
