EMILY KALKA Editor The Meeker Town Board took no action at a special meeting on June 30 to discuss the possible action over Police Chief Trent Norton and Ofc. Kyle Crow.
The meeting was called on June 25. The Board immediately went into executive session after opening the meeting at around 7:02 p.m., with all trustees and the mayor, except Kenneth Massey, voting to convene the session. The meeting took place to a packed house, with many members of the public attending.
The session was to discuss the employment, discipline, performance and possible demotion or termination of Norton and Crow.
When the Board returned to open session over two hours later at 9:28 p.m., they did not publicly reveal what had been discussed during the exectutive session. Instead, they voted unanimously to take no action against either person.
The Lincoln County News reached out to both the Town of Meeker and the Meeker Police Department for comment on what led to the special meeting, however neither replied to the attempts by press deadline.
The Lincoln County News also put in an opens record request for any body cam footage or reports related to the incident in question and is still waiting for the request to be fulfilled.
