1. Update on Glenn Crest Park
A. Glenn Crest Park is open to the Public.
B. Robbie Hulstine Enterprises did complete the beautiful stonework on the two columns that hold our “Welcome to Glenn Crest Park” sign.
C. The ribbon cutting for the Grand Opening had to be cancelled because of the rain.
D. The Grand Opening with the Chamber of Commerce and all the Sponsors will be rescheduled with a better weather date.
E. We are receiving letters from families and children thanking the Town for the new Park.
F. Lowes did guarantee replacement on any of the plants or flowers that did not make it through the winter storms.
2. Update on Homestead Park
A. The $14K we received from T-Set/ Health Incentive grants will help us with renovating Homestead Park. We will add swing sets and replace cracked or broken parts on the existing playground set that is there.
We will probably add one more playground set to the park. We have already done a lot of painting and replacing boards and trim on the Band Stage. Several loads of gravel were placed on the road on the West side of the Park. Donations are being accepted for this Park. More picnic tables and benches are also needed.
3. Update on Chamber of Commerce
A. The Annual Golf Tournament will be held May 21st at the Chandler Golf Course. Please support the event as it buys our fireworks for our July fireworks display at the Lake.
B. The City-Wide garage sale will be held May 8th. Check with Laverne Babinchak at BancFirst for a map.
C. Today, April 19th, was the Annual Blood Drive held at the 1st Baptist Church.
D. The Annual Firearms Bar-B-Que is back on this year, scheduled for May 6th, 7th and 8th.
E. City Wide Cleanup this year will be a 2-day event held at the Meeker H.S. Gym on May 29th - 30th. Please bring an I.D. and or a current Town of Meeker utility bill. Meeker Police will be monitoring the dumping.
4. Update on Limb Chipping
A. We are still waiting to borrow a chipper from Prague or Chandler.
B. You may still haul your limbs to the sewer plant to our burn pile and we will burn your limbs. You will need to unload the limbs yourself.
5. Update on Demo or Dilapidated Houses
A. We are glad to announce the dilapidated structure on the South end of Fowler St. by the Elementary School is on the ground. One 40 yd. roll off dumpster of debris has been hauled off. This is number ten that has been torn down. Keep it up Meeker!
