Stroud’s Tigers hammered Allen 55-0 Friday night and pushed their district record to 2-0.
After starting the season with losses to Class 2A Chandler and unbeaten Colcord, the Tigers have peeled off three straight wins a combined victory margin of 143-36.
“We’ve grown up a lot the past few weeks, growing as a team,” said Tigers’ head coach Josh Presley. “We’re still a young team, but we’re making fewer mistakes each week.”
The Tigers spent most of the game running the ball, with 41 carries for 346 yards. They led 21-0 in the first quarter.
“The kids played hard, and executed well,” Presley said. “I’m happy.
“For the most part, they gave us what we wanted up front and we were successful most of the night. Missed some throws down the field.”
The Tigers travel to face co-district leader Hartshorne. The Tigers and Miners are tied with Mounds, with all three having 3-2 overall records and 2-0 league marks.
The Miners opened the season with three games against Class 3A teams and went 1-2. Since opening district, they have pummeled Wewoka, 51-14, and Savanna, 58-6.
Mounds also beat Savanna and Wewoka and hosts Konawa this week.
