There is dominance on the softball field, and then there is what the Stroud Lady Tigers did in the 66 Conference tournament last week.
The 13th-ranked Lady Tigers won their four games by a combined score of 77-0, beating McLoud 29-0, Prague 23-0, top-seeded Holdenville 15-0 and Meeker 10-0 in the championship game.
Their onslaught started with a 16-run first inning against McLoud and continued with Jadyn Young hitting three straight pitches for homers - two of them grand slams. She finished the game with 10 RBI and the tournament with 17.
Pitcher Emma Davis was 10-for-10 at the plate in between intentional walks and clubbed homers in half of her at-bats, including at least one homer in every game.
After the finals win against Meeker, the Lady Tigers were 12-4 and had an eight-game winning streak going.
In the 66 Conference baseball tournament, McLoud brought home the championship hardware with a 12-4 win over Seminole in the championship game.
The run in the tournament extended the Redskins’ winning streak to seven games and lifted their record to 14-12.
