Two in a row for Stroud

Stroud rolled up up 377 yards of total offense, plenty enough to post a 50-28 win over Liberty Friday night.

Stroud jumped in front early with an 11-yard touchdown run from Dylan Collins in the first period and kept the pedal down, taking a 50-14 lead in he fourth quarter.

The win lifted Stroud to a 2-3 record for the season kept the Tigers tied for first in District A-7. Stroud, Mounds and Okemah all have 2-0 leaguer ecords.

Stroud started off 0-3, playing up a class with games against 2A squads Meeker, Chandler and Prague.

Since settling into district competition, the Tigers have outscored their opponents by a combined 50 points.

Freshman quarterback Dylan Baker paced the Tigers’ offense with 166 yards and three touchdowns passing and 24 yards and a touchdown running.

Zeb Blancarte ran for 99 yards and one score and caught a 25-yard pass for another.

Following the scoring run by Collins in the first period, Bruce Hughey daught a 21-yard touchdown pass to make it 12-0.

Liberty followed with its lone first-half touchdown, but Baker ran for his touchdown and Dylan Collins followed with two running touchdowns to make it 32-6.

Blancarte followed with his two scores, making it 44-6.

Gage Wilsonran six yards for Stroud’s final score with 3:08 left in the game.

Stroud is at home Friday night against Konawa.
