The Wellston Tigers ran up more than a quarter of a mile in total offense and took a 46- 34 win from Life Prep Academy in Wichita, Kan., last week.
The win lifts the Tigers’ record to 2-5 for the season.
Wellston got out to an early lead, thanks to four touchdown passes.
After a scoreless first quarter, quarterback Dakota Long connected on a 45-yarder to Lane Kulp in the second period, then hit Tyler Evans for a 20-yard scoring pass and Kulp for a twoyarder.
With three two-point conversions, that made it 24-0 at halftime.
An 80-pass touchdown pass and a 10-yard run made it 38-14, but Life Prep cut it to 38-28 late in the fourth quarter.
Long found Cole Skies for a 79-yard touchdown pass late in the period to make it 46-28. Life Prep added a final score.
Wellston finished with 486 yards in total offense, with 391 yard and five touchdowns coming through the air.
Long finished with 16 completions in 26 attempts and had 442 yards in total offense.
Kulp finished with six catches, good for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Sikes had four catches for 62 yards and a score and Evans had five grabs for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Wellston held Life Prep to 265 yards of total offense.
Wellston is back in action Friday, hosting Oklahoma Bible.
The Tigers host Wilson the following week, then close out the season at home against Destiny Christian on Nov. 4.
